Here at RS Antiques & Art, we’re proud to feature a variety of contemporary local artists, but we also have a selection of antique European art. One of our favorites right now is a piece by the Prix de Rome winning printmaker Max Pollak. This 1920 aquatint on cream laid vellum paper depicts the town of Bonn, Germany and, according to the artist’s “remarque” in the lower margin, features Beethoven’s house at 20 Bonngasse.
This piece is perfect for the Max Pollak collector or a Beethoven lover!
More interested in our collection of local contemporary art? Friday, December 6th is our monthly First Friday Art Opening, and this month we are so excited to announce that we’ll be featuring our very own in-house “upstairs” studio artists: Micky Byrd, Elizabeth Farrar, Jan Lichterman, Merrill Skipworth and Brenda Wiseman. Like every First Friday, we’ll have wine, hors d’oeuvres, music, shopping and ART!!
